About the role
You'll own the front line of Hashorn's AI and agentic engagements. Most weeks you're inside one customer's stack, mapping their actual workflows, prototyping agents against their data, and shipping production rollouts the same quarter they signed. The work blends architecture, prompting, evaluation, integration, and a lot of conversations with operators who know the domain better than you ever will. You write the code, you run the demos, and you stand behind the outcomes.
What you'll do
- Embed with one or two customers at a time as their technical lead for an AI or agentic-workflow engagement.
- Translate messy operational problems into concrete agent designs: tools, memory, evaluators, guardrails, fallback paths.
- Ship production rollouts in the customer's infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure) with observability, evals, and a human-in-the-loop path from day one.
- Run weekly working-session demos with customer operators; iterate the workflow against real cases, not synthetic ones.
- Pair with Hashorn QA and Security from the first sprint so every agent ships with tests, red-team coverage, and a rollback plan.
- Hand over with runbooks, eval dashboards, and an optional retainer for ongoing operation and tuning.
What you bring
- 6+ years shipping production software; at least one of those years deploying LLMs or agents into a real product.
- Strong Python and TypeScript; comfort moving between a customer's backend and our own stack.
- Hands-on with at least two of LangGraph, LangChain, LlamaIndex, Vercel AI SDK, OpenAI Assistants, Anthropic tool-use, AWS Bedrock, or Google Vertex AI.
- Disciplined about evals: you have built an offline harness that catches regressions before they reach a customer.
- Calm under ambiguity. The customer's first description of the problem is rarely the real one; you find the real one in week one.
- Written and spoken communication good enough that customer execs are happy to put you in the room with their team.
Nice to have
- Background as a founder, founding engineer, or solutions architect at an AI-product company.
- Domain experience in fintech, healthcare, logistics, or B2B operations.
- Open-source contributions to an agent or LLM framework.
Compensation
